There are four concepts to the MIS / R&D team

 

  • Information Systems Administration for daily operations
  • Network & Application Operations: MIS oversees daily network and application interoperability while performing research and development of new technologies for future equipment acquisitions.
  • Telecommunications to ensure voice traffic is transmitted and received.
  • Information System Services that conduct website development and desktop training.

 

Other Responsibilities Include:

 

  • Analyzing and defining the technology requirements
  • Review vendor RFP / RFQ for equipment acquisition
  • Performing Computer Forensics and data recovery
  • Responded during times of crisis with the Mobile Command Unit
  • Ensuring all onboard technologies are fully operational to assist in Law enforcement.
  • Information Services - Delivering the Latest in Computer Technology
  • Information technology was made for law enforcement. After all, law enforcement is all about collecting and analyzing information to not only solve crime but to anticipate crime and take proactive measures to prevent it.
  • Sheriff Fleming has made technology a priority at the FCSO. All deputies now have laptop computers Information Technology Groupequipped with wireless network cards giving them access to the agency’s computer system whether from a desk or from the field. Every computer application that can be accessed from a desktop can also be accessed from the field. Fact is, the mobile office is now a reality and as technology moves forward and bandwidth speeds increase it will be extremely efficient over the coming years.
  • Data sharing is the lesson learned from the September 11 terrorist attack. Sheriff Fleming is leading the way in data sharing. In the past two years the FCSO has integrated the entire county into a true public safety network, all public safety agencies are on this computer network allowing them to communicate with each other through their mobile computer terminals.
  • The Information Technology group provides support for the city of Bunnell Police Department and Bunnell City Hall. This support allows their agency to leverage much needed technology that they may not have the ability to implement.
  • Sheriff Fleming is committed to supplying the agency with quality technology that increases our efficiency by reducing administrative costs and helps to prevent and solve crime.
