Chief Deputy Rick Look

Chief Deputy Rick Look joined the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office in 2005, bringing over thirty-six years of experience in law enforcement to the Agency and to the people of Flagler County.


After serving four years with the United States Army, which included two tours of duty in Vietnam, his extensive career in law enforcement began in 1969, when appointed to the Metropolitan Police Department, 14th Precinct, in Washington D.C. In 1973, Chief Look resigned and joined the St. Petersburg Police Department as a Patrolman, then being assigned to the Robbery Squad and eventually transferring to the Homicide Squad.


In 1978, he accepted a position with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) as a Special Agent with the Tampa Bay Operations Center. Within three years, he was promoted to Special Agent Supervisor and assigned to the Miami Operations Center, with principal responsibilities of supervising a racketeering narcotics unit. Over the years with FDLE, Chief Look held a variety of positions and assignments.


After twenty-seven distinguished years, Chief Look retired in 2005, from his position of Assistant Special Agent-In-Charge, in FDLE’s Jacksonville Operations Center. Within a few months into his retirement, he accepted his current position with the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office.


He has a Master’s Degree in Public Administration and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy 176th Session.
