Mounted Posse
The mounted posse unit of the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office is a versatile special division that is utilized in a variety of ways.
The posse can be dispatched to patrol heavy pedestrian traffic areas such as shopping centers and commercial districts. The horses are able to access areas that traditional patrol vehicles cannot and the mounted deputies can interface easily with shoppers and merchants.
This unit is utilized for parades, special details and in training sessions for the FCSO.
Experienced riders, with their horses, may volunteer to join the posse by contacting Kathy Weeks at the Courthouse (386) 586-2344.
